The Board of Trustees and the Detachment Staff meet to receive reports, get updates on projects and set the agenda for the upcoming general meeting. The meeting is open to all members.
While this meeting is primarily for the Board and staff, all members are welcomed.
We will have a Gator Detachment General Meeting on Tuesday, May 25th, from 7pm to 8pm.

Odd months = VFW Post 2811 in Gainesville (Jan, Mar, May, etc)Even months = First UMC in Alachua (Feb, Apr, Jun, etc)
This meeting: VFW POST 2811 on Waldo Road in Gainesville.
The meeting will be informal and will not include a dinner.
Face masks will be mandatory inside the building in compliance with official guidance and laws.

The Milton Lewis Young Marines will be placing American flags on the graves of veterans in the Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, May 29th, beginning at 8:30am. The cemetery is run by the City of Gainesville and they are helping coordinate this event as well as a virtual Memorial Day program that will be broadcast on the weekend and Memorial Day. The program will feature the Young Marines and guest speaker Marine Dennis Wait.
The Gator Detachment is the MLYM's sponsoring unit. We are all invited to attend to see what good is being done with the youth of our community under the leadership of Cary and Jamie Hill and their staff.
There will be an opportunity for Gator Detachment members to have their picture taken with the Young Marines.
